"Seit Abusir Pasha (Abbas Pasha I x El Dahma II von Montasar) im September 2007 erhabenen Schrittes unseren Stall betrat, ist alles anders", sagt Anika Hohmann von Al Nour Arabians, wo Abusir Pasha zur Pacht steht. Er passt sowohl im Geno- als auch im Phänotyp hervorragend zu den erlesenen Stuten der kleinen aber feinen Zuchtstätte. "All unsere Hoffnung spiegelt sich in seinen großen dunklen Augen wider", erklärt Anika Hohmann. "Er ist ein Prinz und er weiß, dass er ein großes Erbe in sich trägt."

Der rein ägyptische, Blue-List-anerkannte Abusir Pasha ist ein Dahman Shahwan erster Güte und vereint das beste ägypterblut aus Europa, ägypten und den USA in sich. Sein Vater war der aus Bábolna stammende Elitehengst Abbas Pasha I (Ansata Abbas Pasha x 2 Ghalion von Ghalion), den viele als Nonplusultra an Typ, Eleganz und männlichem Ausdruck ansahen. Er war bekannt für seinen extrem edlen und trockenen Kopf, den er unübersehbar an seinen Sohn vererbt hat.

Abusir Pashas Mutter El Dahma II (Prämienstute) stammt vom Elitehengst Montasar aus dem Original-ägypten-Import Bint Iman (Mourad x Iman). Iman wiederum war eine Vollschwester des wunderschönen Ikhnatoon-Sohns Adl, Sohn des unvergessenen Hengstes Ikhnatoon, der lange Jahre als Hauptbeschäler in El Zahraa wirkte und noch heute die Besucher des Staatsgestüts mit seinem heroischen Ausdruck beeindruckt.

Abusir Pasha edle Großmutter Bint Iman ist die geliebte "Grande Dame" auf dem Gestüt Al Nour Arabians. "Wir sind sehr stolz, dass wir sie haben", sagt Anika Hohmann. "Es ist eine Ehre, die dass wir diese verschiedenen Generationen in unserer kleinen Zucht zusammenführen konnten!"

Abusir Pasha verkörpert beide Seiten seines Pedigrees: Die fein gemeißelten Ohren gespitzt, die kantigen Nüstern aufgebläht, blitzt im einen Moment der leicht herrische Schalk seines Vaters aus seinen seelenvollen Augen – doch ein leises Rufen genügt und Sekunden später zeigt der edle Fliegenschimmel das sanfte Antlitz seiner mütterlichen Ahnen, spiegelt die weichen Linien seiner Mutter El Dahma II und seiner Großmutter Bint Iman wider.

Wie die meisten ägypter ist auch er spätreif, doch wie ein guter Wein wird er mit den Jahren immer besser – und trockener! Schon jetzt besitzt er einen überaus trockenen Kopf, sehr kurz und mit breiter Stirn und wunderschön kantigem Maul. Seine Bewegungen erfolgen mit energischem Schub aus der Hinterhand, dabei wirkt er aber elegant wie ein Tänzer. Er ist quadratisch, kompakt und kurz im Rücken. Er ist sehr verspielt und "seinen" Menschen innig zugetan!

"Unser größter Dank gebührt Katja und Norbert Krüger, dass sie uns dieses Juwel verpachtet haben", sagt Anika Hohmann. "Unsere Freude lässt sich kaum in Worte fassen. Es gibt keine Zufälle, es muss eine Fügung des Schicksals sein!".

Der Hengst steht in diesem Jahr einer limitierten Anzahl Fremdstuten zur Verfügung. "Wir warten gespannt auf seine ersten Fohlen in 2008 und die folgenden in 2009", erzählt Anika Hohmann. "Besucher sind auf Al Nour Arabians nach kurzer Anmeldung immer herzlich willkommen, um sich auch in natura von den 'vierbeinigen Schätzen des Lichts' verzaubern zu lassen."

"Since Abusir Pasha (Abbas Pasha I x El Dahma II by Montasar) has entered his stable at our little farm in September 2007 literally everything has changed," says Anika Hohmann of Al Nour Arabians in Germany where Abusir Pasha is on lease. In genotype and phenotype he is the perfect match for the small but exquisite broodmare band at Al Nour Arabians. "All our hopes are reflected in his big dark eyes," relates Anika Hohmann. "He is a prince and he knows that he is carrying a great legacy!"

The straight Egyptian, blue list accepted Abusir Pasha is a Dahman Shahwan by strain and combines the best Egyptian bloodlines of Europe, Egypt and the United States in his pedigree. His sire was the wonderful Bábolna bred stallion Abbas Pasha I (Ansata Abbas Pasha x 2 Ghalion by Ghalion) who was exported to Germany where he was awarded the "elite" title by the German Arab Horse Society. For many he was the epitome of Egyptian elegance, grace, and beauty. Abbas Pasha I was known for his extremely chiseled head which he passed on to his son.

Abusir Pasha's dam, El Dahma II (premium mare), is sired by Montasar (elite) out of the Egyptian import, Bint Iman (by Mourad x Iman). Iman in turn was a full sister of the beautiful Ikhnatoon son Adl who served as head stallion at El Zahraa for many years and still impresses the visitors of the state stud with his heroic expression.

Abusir Pasha's graceful granddam Bint Iman is the beloved "leading lady" at Al Nour Arabians. "We are very proud to finally have her with us," says Anika Hohmann. "It's an honor for us to bring these different generations together in our small stud!"

Abusir Pasha reflects both sides of his pedigree: When he is standing in his paddock, ears pricked, snorting and blowing, and is staring at you with his soulful eyes, he looks exactly like his famous sire – but talk to him and in seconds the noble and masterful stallion will show you the soft look of his maternal ancestors El Dahma II and Bint Iman.

Like most Egyptian horses, and particularly the stallions, he took some time to dry out and mature. Now at the age of eight, he has come into his own - but like a good wine he will be better with every age! He possesses a short and very dry head with a broad forehead and a small and chiseled muzzle. He has wonderful movements and knows how to use his hocks, yet at the same time he moves as elegant as a dancer! He is a very compact horse, with a short and strong back. Abusir Pasha is a very intelligent, playful stallion. He loves "his" people and would do everything to please them.

"We want to thank his owners Katja and Norbert Krueger for leasing him to us," says Anika Hohmann. "Our joy can hardly be described with words. We believe that there are no coincidences in life, it was fated!"

Abusir Pasha is standing at stud to a limited book. "We all can't wait to see his first foals (at our farm) which will start to arrive in 2008. After a short call, visitors are most welcome at Al Nour Arabians to be charmed by these 'treasures of light'," says Anika Hohmann.
